Average Current Mode Control of a Boost PFC Converter Using Dual-Loop PI Compensators

ELK 453E · Istanbul Technical University

Designed and modelled a 500 W, 400 V, 50 kHz single-phase boost PFC converter using cascaded average-current-mode control with inner current and outer voltage PI loops. Component sizing, small-signal analysis, controller tuning, and model-based MIL/SIL/PIL verification produced a regulated 400 V output, a 0.99 power factor, and 4.48% input-current THD.

Analyzing the Effects of Aggressive Lane-Changing on Traffic Flow Dynamics and Vehicular Emissions in the Ring Road Network

Research project · Paper in preparation

Following EPFL’s Introduction to Traffic Flow Modeling and Intelligent Transport Systems course, I conducted a literature review on traffic dynamics, driving behavior, and microscopic modelling. I developed a MATLAB simulation integrating lane-changing, car-following, and vehicular-emission models to quantify how aggressive lane changes affect traffic flow and emissions on a ring-road network. A paper based on this study is currently in preparation.
